Bad weather in the Limousin

Storms Hit Limousin

Many parts of the region were under water this week as storms and flash floods drifted around the Limousin. The fire service was called to many incidents as cellars flooded and gardens washed away. Some of the worst affected areas were in the Creuse. Jean-Marie Sachet mayor of La Celle Dunoise said he had seen nothing like the storms of Tuesday afternoon in the 26 years he has lived in the area. Some streets in the commune became rivers with 30 cm deep water flowing along them. The campsite which was due to open on the first of June has been completely washed away and debris is lying on roads throughout the area. Mr sachet says the commune does not have the funds to meet the clear up bill and has approached the prefecture for emergency funding.

About Gorseinonboy

Hi I'm Vernon Goddard, retired and currently living in Lincoln having spent time abroad in France. My wife Carol and I are enjoying life away from having to make a living; instead we're making plenty of new friends in Lincoln. We have new plans for our time together and new adventures to achieve. Hell Lloyds TSB are still paying for it all and you taxpayers in the UK. So thanks ~ we really appreciate your regular contributions to our spending money. And why not stop and contribute on this site. If you have a view about anything I write you're welcome to post a comment or get in touch with me. When I'm not blogging, I write a little, garden a little less, drink and eat some, exercise when pushed, talk for Wales and think about the grandchildren. Well that's me. Gorseinonboy.
